BEST WAY TO TRAVEL FROM KOMAN TO TIRANA.

Posted By : admin/ 41 0

Traveling toward the Albanian North and back is not always easy. Public transport does not cover direct lines to some of the most popular tourist destinations like Valbona Valley, Theth and Koman Lake. However, this does not mean that you can not visit these Natural Beauties of Albania.

Choose Balkans Incoming Tour Operator offers shuttle services from Tirana or Shkodra towards Koman Lake, Valbona Valley and Theth.

For booking a shuttle service you can get in touch with Choose Balkans and book a seat for your journey: [email protected], +355698801181

One Bonus Tip for our Visitors!

It’s always cheaper booking a full package. Consider the fact that during high season most of the Guesthouses are full. You will hardly find a bed and most likely pay double of the normal price for a last minute deal!

TRAVEL FROM TIRANA – OHRID

Posted By : admin/ 15 0

This is one of the most common questions we hear from our guests, so we decided to make an article about this 🙂

Actually there is not a everyday bus running from Tirana to Ohrid daily. During the summer season there are only two buses running at 8:00 & 20:00 at the International bus station in Tirana. This bus is twice per week.

Adress

Normally the ticket is 18 euro / person.

If you are 3-4 person the worthier way is to get a shuttle service from Tirana. It is quicker, cheaper and you do not have a time to catch ! You can start at the time you wish. For more visit our shuttle services list

TRANSFER FORM TIRANA TO SARANDA

Posted By : admin/ 19 0

Traveling from Tirana to Saranda is probably one of the longest rides you can take from Tirana to another destination within Albania. However, this trip can also be considered as one of the most beautiful as well. You can take two main directions to go to Saranda, via the riviera (through which you can admire the astonishing views of the Llogara pass and Rivera beautiful villages) or via Gjirokastra (by taking this road you can stop by the UNESCO cite of Gjirokastra and at the Blue Eye “Syri i Kaltër”  a natural water source spring wonder.

Getting the public transport from Tirana to Saranda it is possible but its a mission. The busses run twice per day, early in the morning and late at night, since the bus ride takes about 8 – 10 hours as the bus stops in almost every city on the way to Saranda. However, by taking the bus you will not be able to enjoy the Amazing view of the Llogara pass and the Riviera.

If you are more than 2 travelers it’s recommended and worthier getting a private shuttle from Tirana. It will relive you all the timetable stress and will enjoy the entire trip.  Our guides & professional drivers will also make your journey informative and enjoyable.

Please find all the shuttle services offered by Choose Balkans.  [email protected] +355698801181

RENTING A CAR IN ALBANIA

Posted By : admin/ 17 0

Renting a car in Albania is possible in most of the bigger cities of the country. In general prices are fair and they have a small increase during the summer season (June – September). In general most of the companies, especially in Tirana have new, modern cars and they are professional in their service.

Renting a car for doing a round trip  in southern part of Albania, Riviera and historical sites (Berat, Gjirokastra etc..)  works perfectly. You have no time schedule and you can visit the places you want. Sometimes traffic is to busy and in some specific days roads are packed.

Tirana is also a difficult city to manage in traffic. Sometimes it is messy and chaotic.

Some of the main questions from our guests are :

Is it safe to drive in Albania? Is safe park in Tirana ?

Our main answer is YES. Parking and driving in Tirana and in all Albania is safe .

Also regarding’s Insurance, Albanian low include 90% insurance. This means that the interiors of your car, key loosing or tiers are not included in the insurance. Also passing the Albanian border in most of the time is not included by the company who rent cars. This also have exclusions. For a good deal in renting car you can have a look at our list .

Car Rentals

Using your rented car in the Albanian North is not a good idea sometimes. Most well known natural sites to visit in Albanian North, Valbona and Theth have a remote infrastructure and difficult roads to drive into. In the last kilometres before reaching Theth is a MUST having a 4×4 car. Most of the time is cheaper booking a dedicated trip. It is time efficient and you really enjoy the trip especially if you are in tight in time.

THE COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO TRAVELING BETWEEN KOSOVO AND SERBIA – BY VALERIE HOPKINS

Posted By : admin/ 17 0

Whether you’ve got the Balkan bug or you just want to plan a weekend partying all night on Belgrade’s splavs, one of the city’s unique diversions, especially for those of us living in this city without a river, you might have questions about how to travel from Kosovo to Serbia. Here in the Balkans many of us expats love the region’s idiosyncrasies, but there is just one that is infinitely frustrating and — dare I say — downright detestable.

As an expat who’s been working in the Balkans for more than seven years now, I’ve fielded my share of questions about bus schedules (which are more often than not still not published on the internet), phone plans and, most confounding of all, the logistics of traveling from Kosovo to and through Serbia, which for many still remains an odyssey. I’ve always wanted to find a link to send these curious, mobile folk and as the old adage goes, if you want a thing done well, do it yourself. So here goes.

If you’re from Kosovo, you have no problem getting to Serbia. Most of the countries of Europe may be closed to you if you don’t have a visa, but neighboring Serbia beckons! A 2011 deal on free movement between Belgrade and Prishtina means all you need is your ID card. You will receive a temporary paper visa that you MUST have when you leave Serbia and return to Kosovo. If you’re traveling with Kosovo number plates, you can buy a temporary license plate at the border and your insurance is now recognized by Serbia, which will save you at least one hundred euros.

You can stop reading here if you are from one of the other former Yugoslav countries (you probably have anyway) besides Bosnia, since Kosovo has applied a visa regime due to non-recognition, which likely includes the precise crossing where you can enter and exit Kosovo. If you’re from a European country that issues national identity cards to its citizens, then you can cross at any border between Kosovo and Serbia by using only your ID card!

But if you’re like me and other nationals of countries that don’t make national IDs, a group of people who are used to their passports opening a lot of doors, or, erm, borders for them,* you can only enter Serbia from Kosovo if you originally entered Kosovo from Serbia and don’t have proof that you went elsewhere. You need to have a Serbian entry stamp that was issued less than three months before your attempted (re)entry.

There are several borders you can use – the most direct trip to Belgrade, for instance, is Merdare, near Podujevo. You can also cross north of Leposavic at Jarinje and west of Mitrovica at Brnjak. To the east, you can cross at Konculj (Dheu e Bardhe or Bela Zemlja), which goes towards Bujanovac and at – my personal favorite name – Mucibaba, which goes towards Presevo. There is a tiny border north of Prapashtica called Mutivoda, which goes in the direction of Medvedja.
