Itinerary

Day 1 Athens – Corinth – Olympia Ancient Stadium

After having experienced the capital of Greece and cultural capital of Europe, Athens (independently), our tour leader will pick you up at your hotel in Athens. We will begin this amazing journey by driving towards Corinth, located in the north-eastern part of the Peloponnese Peninsula where our first stop will be the Corinth Canal, a narrow waterway that connects the Ionian and Aegean seas. The views from the bridge here are stunning, giving you a great photo opportunity.
Our next destination will be the ancient Olympia Stadium, travel back in time to the site of the first Olympic Games held in 776 BC. We will also visit the temple of Zeus, the largest temple in the Peloponnese and Hera, where the modern-day flame still burns during Olympic Games. Feel free to explore on your own and have a short visit to the village of Olympia for shopping or a traditional meal. Overnight near ancient Olympia.

After breakfast we will head to Kyllini Port and prepare for our Greek island adventure where we will hop to the ferry for Zakynthos Island. The so-called Zante is among the most popular and most beautiful islands in Greece and the island is famous for its natural beauty, crystal clear waters and amazing sunsets. During these days you will be able to admire the villages, gastronomy, the olive groves, pines and its cliffs, the phenomenal beaches and blue caves that combine mountain and sea. The ferry ride will take approximately 1hour and 15 minutes to arrive to Zante Port. After arriving in Zakynthos Island, discover and explore the splendid island of the Ionian Sea at your leisure and get a taste of what you will be experiencing the following day. We will start our adventure today on the island by exploring the famous viewpoint 'Shipwreck of Navagio'. The Shipwreck is one of the most photographed sights in Greece with the 200 meter tall cliffs overlooking the bay. On our way here, we will catch a glimpse of the sea and the amazing landscape surrounding the bay where you will have time to capture the perfect photo.
Later, we will head to the beautiful beach area where you can spend the day sunbathing by Greece's crystal-clear waters.
Our next destination will be Agios Nikolaos Beach, located on the south-eastern part of the island being one of the most popular beaches in Zakynthos. In the afternoon you can visit one of the famous Greek tavernas for a fresh Mediterranean lunch. We will be back at our hotel later in the afternoon with an overnight in Zakynthos.

Day 4 Zakynthos – Ferry to Kyllini – Patras – Preveza

Today we will take the ferry across from Zakynthos to Kyllini where we will drive towards the vibrant town of Patras. Our main destination for today will be Rio-Antirrio Bridge, officially the Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge which is the world’s longest multi-span cable-stayed bridge, connecting the Peloponnese Peninsula with mainland Greece. The Bridge was completed in 2004, a week before the opening of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens where Olympic torchbearers were the first to officially cross its length.
To reach our next destination Preveza, will drive across the 2880m long bridge on a 1.5 hour journey. Present day Preveza was built on the site of ancient Vereniki town, founded by Pyrrhus, the King of Epirus in 290 BC. The town has everything that tourists are looking for from the winding cobbled streets full of quaint stores, to delightful cafes shaded by vines and taverns. We will stroll along the harbour and the old town to admire the traditional buildings, followed by a walk along the seaside enjoying its island-like atmosphere. Overnight near Preveza.

Day 5 Preveza – Igoumentisa – Ferry to Corfu Island

Today we will drive to Igoumenitsa, where we will hop on the ferry for 1.5 hours to the island of Corfu, known for its rich history, beautiful landscapes and delicious, fresh food. You will have a lot to explore in Corfu, from secluded picturesque coves, Mediterranean villages to sandy beaches from West to North.
In 2007, the old town of Corfu city was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
After arriving on the island, we visit its capital Kerkira which preserves its Venetian style historic centre, as well as the former residence of the British Lord High Commissioner at the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, discovering the hidden squares, old city walls and fountains of the town centre. Overnight on Corfu Island.

After a tasty breakfast, we will get ready for our next adventure in the Island by exploring the amazing beaches and villages. Our main destination for today will be Kavos beach, famous for the beach bars, parties and great sandy beaches. On our way to Kavos we will make a short stop to the traditional village of Perivoli. The village still keeps its traditional character and architecture with olive trees and vineyards, stone houses and narrow alleys.
After a short break we will drive to Kavos, the wide, large sandy beach. You will have some free time by the beach to soak up the sun and dive in into the blue waters of the Ionian Sea. The best way to spend a sunny day in Kavos is by indulging in the pleasures of the beach, feeling the warm sand between your toes, and sipping on a refreshing cocktail. Kavos has several lovely beach bars that you can visit. During lunch time there are a lot of tavernas and restaurant around the island that you can have a delicious meal. You can try the famous dishes as Soforito, Pastitsada, Pastitsio Dolce, Pastrokio eggplants, Bianco fish etc. In the afternoon we will get back at our hotel. Overnight in Corfu Island

After exploring the Ionian Islands, we will take the ferry back from Corfu to Igoumenitsa. Our next destination will be Meteora, part of UNESCO world heritage dating back to the 14th – 15th century. The monasteries are built on top of the spectacular rock formations, creating a beautiful and impressive sight. Get ready to witness one of the best and stunning sunsets you have ever experienced. As the sun continues to sink, the sky above Meteora is painted with a vivid array of colors. Truly, a once in a lifetime experience. Overnight in Kalabaka.

Day 8 Kalbaka – Delphi – Athens

From Kalabka we will head towards our last destination, Delphi, another UNESCO world heritage site. This ancient Greek archaeological site is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world, including multiple monuments such as the Temple of Apollo, the Castallian Fountain and the Large Sphynx of Naxos. You will be blown away by Treasury of the Athenians, the Theatre, the Stadium and the Museum with its famous statue of Antinoos and the unique bronze statue of the Charioteer dated from 475 B.C. Driving back to Athens marks the end of this amazing tour through the highlights of Greek history and Ionian islands.
