To avoid traveler sickness, we recommend to drink bottled water during your hiking tour. Tap water in some areas may contain contaminants, bacteria and other pathogens that can lead to traveler sickness, which can spoil your trip. The water in the Alps is drinkable however, consuming bottled water can contribute to a healthier and more enjoyable travel. Additionally, don’t forget to pack purifying water tablets.
- Meals (Picnic Lunches and Dinners)
There is a possibility of buying your meals such as lunch and dinners at your guesthouses or nearby restaurants. Before each day of the hike, ask the guesthouse to prepare a picnic lunch so you can take it with you. If you have any specific allergies or preferences, please make sure to mention this to them before buying the meals. For each meal, you may pay in cash – Euros or Albanian Lek.
- Snacks and Energy Bars
Don’t forget to bring with you some snacks, energy bars or dried fruits to refuel your body during long hikes. These portable snacks provide a quick energy boost and can be pre purchased in Tirana from a supermarket or local fresh food market. Alternatively, you may pack your favourite energy bars from home.
